Construction on the Bypass continues during the winter months. Here is an updated list of current traffic restrictions to help you plan your daily commute.

 

Traffic Management Update

As of March 7th

 

Regina Bypass – General

Dewdney Avenue between Pinkie Road and Condie Road

Highway 33 (near Tower Road turnoff)

Tower Road (near old Pacer Park)

Hwy 11 near RBDB Farm House

Watch for on-going

North Bypass

 

Dewdney Avenue to West of Pinkie Road until March 17

Installation of Concrete Barriers

• Single lane alternating traffic
• Flaggers to direct traffic
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction
• Work zone will be from 9 am to 5 pm

Hwy 11 near RBDB Farm House until April 30

Equipment Crossing

• Work will be done from 6 am to 4 pm
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

One (1) mile North of Scale to Courtney and Hwy 11 Intersection until April 30

Median work – building of pier caps and bridge columns

• North Bound and South Bound fast lane closure
• Work to be done from 6 am to 6 pm
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Courtney Road to TWP #164 until May 31

Equipment Crossing

• Stop signs to be installed
• Equipment to stop for public traffic
• 24-hour work zone
• Both north bound and south bound lanes may be affected
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

East Bypass

 

Hwy 1 East (Balgonie to Tower Road) –  Ongoing

Temporary lane closures in multiple locations along Highway 1 East

• Work adjacent to Highway 1 East or in the median
• Both west bound and east bound lanes may be affected
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction
• East bound closures will be from 6 am-4 pm
• West bound closures will be 9 am – 6 pm

South Service Road between Gravel Pit Road and CPR crossing until March 7

Work adjacent to the Service Road

• Single lane alternate traffic with traffic control people on site
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction
• Work to be done between 7 am and 7 pm

Gregory Avenue East and Highway 48 – until March 10

Equipment Crossing – rock trucks from 9 am to 7pm

• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction
• RBDB will have traffic control to stop traffic to allow rock trucks to cross
• Warning signs have been installed in all four directions.

Highway 1 and Highway 46 – until March 10

Back Fill and Crane Works Adjacent to the Highway

• East bound and west bound fast lane closure just west of Hwy 46
• East bound lane closure from 7 am – 4pm
• Westbound lane closure from 9 am – 5 pm.
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

South of Victoria near Tower Road – until March 10

Delivery of Girders

• Lane closure on Victoria east of Tower Road.
• Traffic control team members will be on site.
• One will stop eastbound traffic to enable the girder delivery truck to do a wide turn onto Tower Road
• A second team member on Tower Road to stop traffic while truck turns in and go into our site.
• Work will be done from 6 am to 4 pm
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Victoria Ave/Highway 1 East of Tower Road until March 17

Installation of Barriers

• Preparation for resurfacing of Hwy 1 East
• West bound fast lane closure just east of Tower Road
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Victoria Ave/Highway 1 East at Tower Road until March 17

Building of pads for temporary traffic lights

• Traffic lights to be used during resurfacing of Hwy 1 East
• Creation of west bound left turn lane and west bound right turn lane
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Victoria Ave/Highway 1 East at Gravel Pit Road until March 17

Building of pads for temporary traffic lights

• Traffic lights to be used during resurfacing of Hwy 1 East
• Creation of west bound left turn lane
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Highway 1 – East of Tower Road – until March 17

Delivery of Girders

• East bound slow lane will be temporary closed from 6 am – 4 pm
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

South Service Road between Gravel Pit Road and CP Rail Line until March 26

Implementation of Slight Detour

• Both west bound and east bound traffic may be affected
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Highway 33 West of Tower Road – until March 31

Girder Erection for Bridges along Tower Road

• Work to be done from 7 am to 5 pm
• VMS boards will be used seven days prior to work
• Traffic control team will stop traffic for less than 15 minutes while girder is installed
• Both west bound and east bound lanes may be affected
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Highway 1 East at Highway 46 – until April 11

Crane and Earth Work adjacent to Road

• East bound and west bound fast lane closure just west of Hwy 46
• Work to be done between 7 am and 4 pm for eastbound traffic
• Work to be done between 9 am and 5 pm for westbound traffic
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Emerald Park Road to Great Plains Road – until April 13

Installing street lights

• Shoulder closures near the on and off ramps
• Watch for single lane alternate on Emerald Park Rd and Great Plains
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction
• Short stoppages in traffic will be needed when street light poles are raised

Pilot Butte Bridge – until May 8

Working in the Median and Adjacent to Highway 1

• East bound lane closure from 7 am – 4 pm
• Westbound lane closure from 9 am -6 pm.
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

North Service Road just east of Highway 48 – until June 6

Flaggers and single lane alternating traffic

• Traffic Control People will be onsite releasing traffic on direction at a time
• Work will be done adjacent to the North Service Road between Dyer Straits and Comfort Plus Campgrounds
• Expect short delays between 7 am and 7 pm

Highway 1 East at Highway 48 until June 8

Development of New Westbound Ramp

• Short temporary closure of west bound lane
• Work to be done between 9 am and 6 pm
• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction

Park Street and Township Road 164 – until May 9

24-hour equipment crossing

• Expect minor delays due to speed reduction
• Stop signs will be installed
• Equipment will stop for public traffic.
• As this is a 24-hour project, lighting will be set up for night operations
